Wyland Waikiki Resort and Spa To Become Courtyard by Marriott

Since it opened in April 2007, the hotel has touted its emphasis on the works of marine-life artist Wyland

Under a franchise agreement with Marriott, the Wyland Waikiki Resort and Spa will be renamed the Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach in mid-2009. Outrigger Hotels and Resorts will continue to manage the 404-room 17-story art-inspired hotel.

Since it opened in April 2007, the hotel has touted its emphasis on the works of marine-life artist Wyland. Although Wyland’s name will no longer appear on the marquee, many of his works will still be on display around the hotel, according to Lodging Capital Partners principal Steve Kisielica.

The hotel is located at the corner of Lewers Street and Kuhio Avenue in Honolulu, approximately one-half mile from Waikiki Beach.

For dining and entertainment, the Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach will have an all-day casual restaurant called Spada, a lobby bar and lounge, and a coffee bar called Kimobean. For those who prefer dining in their rooms, room service will be available.

For recreation, the hotel will offer a spa, outdoor swimming pool, whirlpool and fitness center. Additional amenities include a business center, entertainment room, concierge and travel desk to assist with local touring and valet parking. For conferences and social events, the hotel will feature 1,200 square feet of meeting space.
