The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group portfolio — which includes Radisson, Radisson Blu, Country Inns & Suites By Carlson, Park Inn by Radisson, Park Plaza and Hotel Missoni — is in the midst of a growth spurt. The group’s internal mission, aptly dubbed Ambition 2015, is to increase its portfolio by at least 50 percent by 2015 and reposition and elevate the Radisson brand in the Americas via a $1.5 billion investment.
“We are 150 hotels shy of the target with 2½ years to go,” said Thorsten Kirschke, COO and president, Americas, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. “We have 1,100 hotels globally in operation and a contracted pipeline of 23 percent. With that maturing and coming into operation, we already are north of 1,300 hotels without counting additional signings. It’s a realistic target considering that we are one of the fastest- growing companies on the planet.”
Kirschke added that organic growth in North America is still hampered by the post-recession environment, but that the group’s Asia, Europe and emerging divisions are doing well. www.carlsonrezidor.com
