Three properties recently acquired by Driftwood Hospitality Management will undergo major renovations, scheduled for completion by the end of 2012. The project was made possible by the financial backing of a 2011 joint venture with a real estate investment fund managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, LLC.

The Sheraton Columbus Hotel at Capitol Square is undergoing a $9.5 million top-to-bottom renovation, the largest current project for Driftwood. DoubleTree Hotel Downtown Wilmington Legal District will be modernized with a $4 million renovation, and the Hilton Raleigh-Durham Airport at Research Triangle Park is set for a $7.5 million renovation beginning in July.

“Driftwood is pushing to be as creative as possible, aligning our hotels with brand standards while seamlessly integrating new elements that kick the guest experience up a notch,” said Mike Diaz, chief operating officer at Driftwood. www.thedriftwooddifference.com
