Beginning on Thanksgiving Day, the 14th annual Winter Garden aGlow at the Idaho Botanical Garden will showcase a bedazzling display of nearly 250,000 decorative lights complimenting the already colorful botanical garden in Boise.
This year’s attractions include a holiday express model train display with model train experts on hand to answer inquiries; an opportunity to visit and have a picture taken with Santa and a real reindeer; and a chance to enjoy panoramic views from atop the Lewis and Clark Native Plant Garden complete with all the traditional holiday refreshments and trimmings.
Admission for the event is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 4 to12. Winter Garden aGlow will be open from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. from Nov. 25-28 and Dec. 3 through Jan. 9, 2011.
The Idaho Botanical Garden originally began in 1984 as a botanist’s vision to stimulate an appreciation for natural resources. Garden features include native and exotic plant communities, theme and display gardens and education programs. The complex spans 33 acres, 15 of which are currently in cultivation.
