On July 27-29, the Glide Boise Whitewater Festival will come to Boise and Banks, Idaho, hosted by the Riverside Hotel on the banks on the Boise River. The non-profit festival serves as an outdoor, fitness-focused whitewater competition that aims to educate people about Idaho’s recreational activities, river conservation and safety.
Remote Productions will host festival activities, including two days of river races for whitewater paddlers of all skills, a “Best Trick of the Boise Whitewater Park” video contest and featured films from the National Paddling Film Festival.
Whitewater competitions will take place July 28 and 29, finishing with a party at Anne Morrison Park that will feature live music, local food vendors, a beer garden and sponsor exhibit booths.
Glide Stand Up Paddleboards, the title sponsor of the Boise Whitewater Fest, is helping bring attention to the sport of stand-up paddleboarding at the festival as well. A $1,000 cash prize will be split between the top three male and female winners of the stand-up paddleboard competitions on Boise Whitewater Fest’s Payette River course — one of the longest and most challenging in the world.
