Options for sleigh rides are abundant throughout Idaho. // (c) 2012 Idaho Tourism
While Idaho offers plenty of options for snow sports, those seeking to take off the boots and bindings for a more relaxing snow day can take part in sleigh rides all over the state this winter season.
In northern Idaho, Western Pleasure Guest Ranch offers scenic horse-drawn sleigh rides along a two-mile trail of dense forests with views of the Selkirk Mountains. After the ride, warm up in front of a fire wile enjoying hot drinks and freshly popped popcorn. Or, at Rider Ranch in Coeur d'Alene, take a 30-minute horse-drawn wagon ride into the meadow to see ranch horses and cattle, followed by hot drinks and toasted marshmallows by a warm fire.
In the resort town of Sun Valley in central Idaho, sleigh rides to Trail Creek Cabin for dinner are available. Eastern Idaho offers a dinner sleigh ride at the Grand Targhee Resort near Driggs, while on the Linn Canyon Ranch sleigh ride guests can see llamas, horses and other wildlife. The Teton Mountain Ranch provides a way to get up close with elk on its horse-drawn sleigh ride and elk tour.
For locals and visitors of southwest Idaho, sleigh ride options are available in Garden Valley from Idaho Sleigh Rides, in Boise from Bogus Creek Outfitters and in Donnelly with Hap and Florence Points Sleigh Rides.
