Travel Leaders Group has recognized the serious shortage of young travel agents in the industry and is taking the challenge head on with its Travel Leaders of Tomorrow initiative that will debut in April. Leaders of Tomorrow aims to attract and train new travel agents as well as place them into existing wholly-owned, franchised or member agencies.
“We’re not looking at this as a money-maker,” said Nexion president Jackie Friedman, who is spearheading the Travel Leaders of Tomorrow program. “We are looking at it as a solution that offers help to agencies under the Travel Leader’s Group umbrella and provides them with potential staff.”
The curriculum will primarily take place in a virtual campus with module-based training and an opportunity for fam trips and/or agency internships after certain qualifications are met. The student must pass four modules, which cost $450 each, to complete the course. www.travelleadersoftomorrow.com
