Representatives of the California Coalition of Travel Organizations (CCTO) recently visited the State Capitol to lobby state legislators in the Senate and Assembly on key legislative proposals including AB 2354, which strives to provide an effective solution for the provision of travel insurance to California travel consumers.
“Our visits with representatives of both parties confirmed the strong support our elected officials have for travel and tourism in this state,” said Susan Tanzman, president of CCTO.
Among their visits, CCTO members met with assembly member Jose Solorio who is authoring AB 2354. The assembly bill aims to remedy current licensing problems and inconsistencies the travel industry faces when travel agents and tour operators offer travel insurance to their clients.
“We are following up on our Capitol visits by encouraging California travel businesses to submit letters of support on AB 2354,” said Tanzman.
The coalition member organizations are distributing sample letters for members of the CCTO organizations to sign and submit.
