San Francisco luxury waterfront hotel, Hotel Vitale, has appointed Al Smyth as its director of events. The fourth generation San Franciscan boasts over 20 years of event planning experience for hotels during which he has been responsible for everything from driving events revenue to directing catering events, convention and conference services and even managing client relations during an extensive $100 million restoration project while the hotel he worked for remain open.“Al’s extensive background in the luxury hospitality industry, combined with his extensive experience increasing event sales at celebrated San Francisco properties, makes him the ideal candidate for this position,” said Melony Williams, general manager of Hotel Vitale. “We look forward to the many positive contributions he will make as a member of Hotel Vitale’s management team.”
