Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu Appoints Opening GM

Christopher Clark to open The Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu in summer 2013

The Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu has named Christopher R. Clark as the property’s opening general manager. The hotel is slated for a summer 2013 debut, and marks The Ritz-Carlton’s tenth property in China.

“I am delighted to be returning to China to open The Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu. This property represents a strategic milestone as we increase our presence into China’s key provincial cities and introduce our brand of luxury hospitality to the ever-discerning Chinese traveler,” said Clark.

Clark comes to the new property from South Korea where he served as the general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Seoul. Previous to that position, Clark served as the hotel manager for The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo. He has been with Ritz-Carlton since 1997, and has helped in the opening of many of the brand’s properties, including The Ritz-Carlton, Shenzhen, and The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong.

The Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu will offer 353 guestrooms, including 55 suites; three restaurants; a lobby serving high tea; meeting spaces; a spa; an indoor swimming pool; and a fitness center. The property is located in the Sichuan province, adjacent to Tianfu Square.
