Alaska Airlines has added new summer service between Portland, Ore., and Billings and Missoula, Mont. There will be one flight each day between Portland and Billings as well as between Portland and Missoula. These new flights will be operated for Alaska Airlines by Horizon Air and will become available starting on June 5. The flights are in addition to the two daily flights to Billings and three daily flights to Missoula that are already flying from Seattle. The flights will be operated using 76-seat Bombardier Q400s, one of the most environmentally friendly types of regional aircraft. The Q400 is said to burn 30 percent to 40 percent less fuel and produces an equally lower amount of emissions than comparable jets.
“These nonstop flights between Portland and two of Montana’s largest cities will provide customers with convenient connections to Alaska Airlines' hubs and easy access to our route network,” said Joe Sprague, vice president of marketing at Alaska Airlines.
