Disney is coming to Whitefish, Mont. this year via “Disney’s A Christmas Carol” train tour. The train stops in Whitefish for two days this July 10 and 11 from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. with free displays on the train for the entire family. The train will be located at the corner of Columbia Avenue and First Street.

The Whitefish stop is just one stop for Disney’s 40-city train tour featuring a 3D sneak peek at film footage from their upcoming movie, “Disney’s A Christmas Carol.” The tour will also include Christmas-themed carolers, decorations, giveaways and various interactive activities for people of all ages.

Featuring four custom-designed railcars full of behind-the-scenes attractions, entertaining demonstrations, and fun activities, the train tour will make 40 stops in 36 states over 24 weeks. The train will make its inaugural stop at Los Angeles’ Union Station on Memorial Day Weekend, May 22-25, and will finish at New York’s Grand Central Terminal over the weekend of Oct. 30 – Nov. 1. Sponsored by HP technology and driven by Amtrak, the tour is open and free to the public.

Highlights of the tour include the viewing of authentic artifacts from the Charles Dickens Museum of London; artwork, costumes and props from the film; demonstrations of performance capture technology; and the chance to morph one’s face into one of the film’s characters using HP technology. Each stop will also feature a Disney 3D Theater where guests can get a preview of “Disney’s A Christmas Carol” and exclusive behind-the-scenes materials from the movie.

“Disney’s A Christmas Carol,” directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Robert Zemeckis and starring Jim Carrey, opens in theaters on November 6.
