Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s Glittering Lights

Holiday tradition returns with new features for 2012 By: Kelly Rosenfeld

The Details

Glittering Lights, the holiday tradition that brightens the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, will return on Nov. 16, running nightly through Jan. 6, 2013. The light tunnel spectacular will include more than 450 animated light displays along a 2½-mile racetrack and expand this season with more displays, including a NASCAR scene and Avenue of Trees, showcasing more than 55 charities with custom signs and fully lit trees.

“During Glittering Lights, visitors will be able to enjoy the festivities from the warmth and comfort of their vehicle as all designs are made to be viewed from the car,” said Shannon Bentham, co-founder of Ivory Star Productions. “With new elements, Glittering Lights will be an even more spectacular holiday experience.”

Speedway Children’s Charities receive a portion of ticket sales and provides funding for hundreds of children’s charities throughout Southern Nevada. In addition, Goodwill will provide $2 off admission with the donation of gently used items at any Goodwill site in Southern Nevada or at the gates of Glittering Lights.

Glittering Lights will operate Monday-Thursday from 5:30-9 p.m. for $15 per vehicle, and Friday-Sunday from 5:30-10 p.m. at $20 per vehicle. Tickets can be purchased online, at any Walgreens or at the event itself.
