The Heavenly Flyer, an elevated zip line cable ride, has opened at the Heavenly Mountain Resort at Lake Tahoe. With speeds up to 50 miles per hour, the Flyer will take visitors over the treetops to enjoy a scenic adventure ride and a spectacular view of the lake.
At 3,300 feet, the Heavenly Flyer is the longest zip line in the continental U.S. The 525-foot drop equals that of Seattle’s Space Needle. From the Flyer’s launching pad, at the top of Tamarack Express, to the landing zone, above the top of the tubing hill, the total ride takes 80 seconds.
This will be a year-round attraction providing family fun for every season. In the winter, the Heavenly Flyer will be offered at Adventure Peak, along with cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding and snowbiking. In the summer, riding the flyer can be enjoyed along with hiking trails and a 25-foot climbing wall.
Rides are $30 ($20 for those with an active Heavenly season pass) and can be purchased at the Gondola ticket window or at the Adventure Peak kiosk at the top of the gondola. There are a limited number of rides every day. Height and weight restrictions apply.
