The National Institute of Flamenco will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its world-class Flamenco Festival, Festival Flamenco Internacional de Alburquerque, from June 10-16. The festival is the largest exposition of flamenco dance and music in the U.S.
“Once again, New Mexico will play host and be treated to the highest caliber dancers and performances in the flamenco world,” said Eva Encinias Sandoval, Festival Flamenco founder and artistic director. “Featuring Spanish superstars that represent a wide display of talent and styles ranging from traditional flamenco to cutting edge performances, these artists embody the essence of 25 years of Festival Flamenco Internacional.”
Festival Flamenco will offer nightly performances held at the University of New Mexico’s Rodey Theatre and at the National Hispanic Cultural Center, for ticket prices ranging from $20-$90. Headliners will include Pastora Galvan, Adela Campallo, Rafael Campallo and other artists. More than 25 workshops will be held at Carlisle Gym on the University of New Mexico campus, offering comprehensive flamenco-related study for all skill levels. Registration is now open, and prices range from $150-$240 with early bird incentives available.
