From Nov. 26 to Dec. 25, the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa, in Santa Ana Pueblo will celebrate the holidays with varied offerings on a number of days. The kick-off event, Tis' the Season at Tamaya, will transform the New Mexico hotel into a festival of lights with a Christmas tree, holiday carols and other festivities.
Activities throughout the season will cater to families and children, including Santa drawn wagon rides, photos with Santa, story telling and s'more making under the stars and kid-friendly crafts such as candy cane reindeer and holiday ornaments. For animal lovers, dogs dressed in holiday outfits will receive a complimentary photo with Santa Claus with the donation of one pet food item to benefit Animal Humane New Mexico.
Tamaya will also celebrate Native American cultures throughout the season with a Holiday Artisan Market highlighting Native American cultures, featuring tribal dances, flute performances and vendors from Native American Pueblos, as well as a special lunch for the Elders of the Pueblo of Santa Ana.
Other highlights include a family book event featuring acclaimed author Rudolfo Anaya reading and signing "The Faralitos of Christmas." On Christmas Eve, a reading of "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" will take place, followed by a visit from Santa for children of all ages at the resort. A traditional New Mexico style Christmas Eve dinner will be served, featuring tamales, biscochitos and other special menu items. Christmas brunch will be served the next day.
