Festival celebrates wine in New Mexico’s oldest winery

La Vina Winery in Las Cruces, N.M., is hosting the 2008 La Vina Harvest Wine Festival on Oct. 18 and 19 from noon to 7 p.m. There, nearly 20 wines will be available for tasting and purchase from the state’s oldest winery, set along the Don Juan Onate Trail. More than 8,000 people are expected to attend this two-day event, complete with local and regional entertainers, food and arts and crafts activities.

Admission is $10 for adults and includes a complimentary wine glass and up to six wine tastings. Admission for festival-goers ages 12-20 is $5 and those under age 12 are free.
