The Tourism Association of New Mexico, in partnership with the New Mexico Tourism Department, has opened registration for the 2010 New Mexico Governor’s Conference on Tourism, to be held April 18-20 at the Hilton Buffalo Thunder Resort near Santa Fe, N.M. More than 250 tourism professionals from throughout the state are expected to attend.
The conference will commence on April 19 at 10 a.m. with various speeches and presentations, including “Engaging the Value Seekers” by Phil Bruno of Treat ’em Right in St. Louis, which will delve into how the current economy has changed traveling consumers and how business can adjust their strategies accordingly. Judy Randall, president of Randall Travel Marketing, will also present the “Top 10 Trend in travel for N.M. for 2010,” and Ann Rhoades, a human resources executive and president of People Ink in Albuquerque will present “People-Centric Cultures Pay Big Dividends.”
“We are fortunate to have these high profile speakers presenting at our conference, each of whom are experts in their respective fields,” said Sharon Schultz, CEO of the Tourism Association of New Mexico. “This is a professional development opportunity you don’t want to miss.”
Prior to the start of the conference, a fundraising golf tournament will be held at the Towa Golf Club on April 18 beginning at 1 p.m. and attendees may register for it online. The conference will conclude on April 20 with the Tourism Hall of Fame banquet, where three individuals will be honored for their contributions to tourism in New Mexico.
