The Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi in Santa Fe, N.M., has teamed up with the famed Santa Fe Cooking School to develop a special culinary-themed vacation package for its guests this summer. The school specializes in regional cooking classes that explore the flavors of the Southwest. Applicable dates for this package are June 11 and 25; July 8 and 23 and Aug. 6.
The three-night Culinary Package 2010 begins with a welcome amenity of sangria and freshly made salsa and tortilla chips on Thursday. The following day, guests will travel to the Santa Fe School of Cooking to take a two-hour cooking lesson with executive chef Rocky Durham, followed by lunch. Later, in the afternoon, they can participate in a guided walking and tasting tour of four pre-selected Santa Fe restaurants, followed by a tour of the hotel’s own Anasazi Restaurant with head chef Oliver Ridgeway, including a personal kitchen tour and a food/wine pairing in the restaurant’s private wine cellar.
On Saturday, guests will be led by Kim Giles of Local Flavor, who will take them on a two-hour walking tour of the local farmers’ market. Later, at 6 p.m., Anasazi Restaurant manager Adrian Cabral will host a private wine chat with guest to discuss wine pairings with fruit and cheese. At 7 p.m., guests will enjoy a farmers’ market dinner prepared by chef Ridgeway. On Sunday, guests will receive a departure gift of a farmers’ market book on artisan farming and recipes.
The cost, per person, for the culinary package, not including room and taxes, is $450 per person. Two-day packages for Friday and Saturday are also available through Aug. 6 on select weekends. The Culinary Package must be booked at least 14 days prior to arrival and bookings must be made directly through the hotel at 800-688-8100.
