More than 1,000 senior athletes are expected to converge in Las Cruces, N.M., from July 28-Aug. 1 for the 32nd Annual Senior Olympics State Summer Games. Through May 31, potential competitors must compete and qualify for their respective sports at local qualifying games; some athletes from the July event will go on to qualify for the 2011 National Senior Olympics games in Houston.
Sports include billiards, cycling, track and field, table tennis, racquetball and badminton. The registration fee for the games is $5 per person and allows participants to compete in a total of up to 10 different sports.
