The Dona Ana Arts Council recently announced that the 40th Annual Renaissance ArtsFaire will take place on Saturday, Nov. 5 and Sunday, Nov. 6 in Young Park in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

The ArtsFaire features over 150 artist vendor booths selling original, handcrafted items, including jewelry, pottery and ceramics, photographs, leather goods, paintings and drawings, sculpture, toys, musical instruments, textiles and wood. The ArtsFaire boasts the largest juried arts show in Southern New Mexico as well as on-going entertainment at the The Rio Grande Main Stage, The Merry Court of Sherwood Oak, The Middle Eastern Village and The Children's Realm.

At the Children's Realm, children can shoot arrows, feed the alligator, play carnival games and make their own crown, sword or helmet. Children can also dig for fossils or shop for bargains at the Peddler's Market as parents sample beer and wine at the Imperial Libation Garden.

The Faire will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Gate admission costs $6 for adults and children 12 years old and younger get in free. Proceeds from the Faire are designated for art programs and other cultural activities in the community sponsored by the Dona Ana Arts Council.
