During the Hood River Valley Blossom Festival, which runs April 17-18, clients can savor the simple pleasures of a country drive while taking in some special events in honor of Earth Day (April 22) and the arrival of spring.
Sponsored by the Hood River County Chamber of Commerce and the Columbia Gorge Earth Center, this annual festival got its start 56 years ago.
The 47-mile long Blossom Festival tour route, packed with wineries, farms and fruit stands, loops through the scenic Hood River Valley. Clients can encounter plenty of spots to snap photos of the scenic Columbia River Gorge as well as beautiful pear blossoms in bloom. Over 15,000 acres of orchards explode into bloom, carpeting the entire valley in pearly white and pink.
The entire region takes part in the celebration with such events as a quilt show, craft sale and the popular dessert party at the Apple Valley Country Store in Hood River.
