Bend's Lara House Lodge Earns Honor as a Distinguished Inn

The establishment is one of 11 properties in Ore. to receive the distinction

The historic Lara House Lodge has been named to the Select Registry: Distinguished Inns of North America, one of the most prestigious innkeepers associations in the U.S.

Select Registry features 400 of the finest country inns, bed and breakfasts, and unique small hotels in North America.

Located in downtown Bend, Ore., the bed and breakfast establishment is one of 11 properties in the state to receive the distinction, and it is the only property in Bend to be honored.

To be considered for the Select Registry program, Lara House Lodge had to meet a number of qualifying criteria and comply with a quality assurance program. The quality assurance program involved independent inspectors who arrived unidentified, spent the night and evaluated the accommodations on a detailed point system.

Built in 1910, Lara House Lodge was once the home of a wealthy logging- era merchant and his family. Today, the prominent Craftsman-style bed and breakfast overlooks Drake Park. Its six guest rooms, each with a private bath, feature an eclectic mix of world-crafted furnishings, high-end linens and down comforters. A daily gourmet breakfast and wine hour are included in the nightly room rates.
