Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort has announced its 2011 photo contest, with the top two winners receiving overnight lodging on a houseboat.
Located near the city of Reedsport and surrounded by tall fir trees, Loon Lake affords many opportunities for gorgeous photography, and its restaurant provides a spectacular view of the lake.
Photo contest entries are not limited to scenes at Loon Lake, however. There are many beautiful locations near Loon Lake such as the Oregon Coast beaches, Oregon Dunes National Recreation area, Umpqua Valley wine region, Dean Creek elk viewing area, Umpqua Lighthouse State Park, Douglas County covered bridges and the Umpqua River.
Loon Lake is a playground for water sports, and Loon Lake Marina rents many types of watercraft. Houseboats that sleep from four to 10 people, jet skis, pontoon boat, ski boats, canoes, kayaks, paddle boats and water ski accessories are all available.
Along with houseboats, the resort features overnight accommodations in cabins and yurts as well as sites for tent and RV camping.
Photo contest participants are encouraged to include an optional story about their vacations, many of which will be posted on the Loon Lake Lodge Web site along with photo entries.
The contest ends on Sept. 30, 2011.
