Pride Fest: A Colorful Portland Tradition

LGBT travel news enhances the visitor scene

The 2012 Portland Pride festival returns June 13-20, 2012, with a colorful lineup of activities and events around the city.

Highlights of the upcoming festival include the screening of the award-wining documentary "Gen Silent" plus a comedy show, dance parties, Dyke March Portland, a pride concert and pet showcase.

At the same time, Portland's Jupiter Hotel has launched its Keep Portland Queer package, good through Dec. 30, 2012. Included are a $10 gift certificate to Fantasy for Adults Only, a bottle of Barefoot Wine's Bubbly Pink Moscato, a Travel Portland LGBT brochure, one dozen Voodoo Doughnuts, free parking and copies of two new area LGBT publications: OutCity, a biannual magazine covering travel in the Pacific Northwest, and PQMonthly, a new monthly newspaper with a full calendar of events.

Meanwhile, in June 2012 the Portland scene will see the start of a third new LGBT publication: JustOut newspaper, relaunched by a new publisher in the form of a glossy monthly magazine.
