The Resort at The Mountain (The Resort), a premier golf resort located on the western slope of Mt. Hood, recently celebrated the completion of $1.5 million in upgrades and improvements on Foxglove Nine, part of The Courses historic 27-hole golf club which is undergoing a $3.7 million renovation.
The upgrades and improvements to Foxglove Nine include remodeled greens, renovated and upgraded sand bunkers and the addition of four new bunkers. Paved cart paths and updated irrigation system have also been installed to improve course quality and conditions.
The renovations were designed by premier firm, John Harbottle Design. Under the direction of acclaimed course architect, John Harbottle, son of Pacific Northwest Hall of Fame golfers, Dr. John Harbottle, Jr. and Pat (Lesser) Harbottle, the design incorporates environmentally sensitive and award-winning layouts.
The Courses has earned distinction as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary and offers close proximity to the Salmon River and surrounding natural habitat. The Resort offers complimentary guided nature walks around the Wee Burn Stream habitat with Golf Superintendent Tony Lasher and PGA Golf Professional Bryce Finnman. Guests can witness the vibrant ecosystem firsthand, including Coho salmon spawning and stream restoration. Special care is taken to ensure that the quality of water that enters each course is consistent with the quality that exits.
