Valentine's Weekend at the Heathman, From Child to Chocolate

The Heathman restaurant is presenting two screenings of the movie "Julie and Julia"


The idea of dinner and a movie on Valentines’ Day weekend just got tastier at the Heathman Hotel, whose restaurant is presenting two screenings of the movie "Julie and Julia" along with a six-course menu featuring recipes made famous by Julia Child in her cookbook, "Mastering the Art of French Cooking."

Heathman Restaurant culinary director Philippe Boulot and his team are serving signature dishes from the book while guests follow the antics and adventures of Child in the recent hit movie.

Courses include steamed artichokes and hollandaise sauce; bouillabaisse in aspic; duck en croute; lobster thermidor; beef bourguignon; and apple tart tatin. Seatings are Feb. 13 and 14 at 6:30 p.m. The rate of $75 per person does not include beverages or tips.

For those craving more chocolate and less Hollywood, the Heathman is offering a chocolate-centric version of its traditional high tea on Feb. 13 at noon and 2 p.m. for $32 per person.

In addition, a special dinner menu will be available on Feb. 14 in the main dining room with dishes including roasted bone marrow and oysters, Oregon bison and smoked Snake River kobe beef.
