Through June 2, the 11th annual San Antonio Summer Art & Jazz Festival, or SAS Fest, will bring jazz music and more to the public once again. This free, three-day event will feature a line-up of local, regional and nationally known jazz artists, including Hope Morgan, Elizabeth Mis, Dana Robbins, Lisa Clark, Patsy Torres, the USAA Jazz Orchestra featuring Rhonda Meyer and many others who are scheduled to perform. This year’s featured artist is Grace Kelly, a 20-year-old singer, saxophonist, composer, arranger, producer and rising star of the jazz world.
Other elements of the family-friendly festival will include an Arts & Crafts Fair, as well as the presentation of a humanitarian award to an individual who has helped advance, improve and promote the San Antonio community.
SAS Fest aims to educate the public about jazz music and, to this end, offers free music workshops to showcase various artists and musical instruments. This year, SAS Fest will also host 25 underprivileged children from the St. Peter-St. Joseph Children’s Home, honoring them during the main event performances and treating them to special attendance privileges.
