Austin is known as the Live Music Capital of the World, and this summer will be filled with plenty of opportunities for visitors to enjoy live music and Texas hospitality.

Every Friday in July, The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum will host a free concert series. Music Under the Stars is a family-friendly event featuring live music from local artists including The Ruby Jane Show, Kelly Willis, Warren Hood and the Goods, Junior Brown and more. In addition, families can get their fill of complimentary tacos and teas while watching a live performance.

Music- and nature-lovers will want to head to Zilker for KGSR’s Blues on the Green — Austin’s longest-running free concert series. For 22 seasons, this popular family-friendly event has been a summertime tradition. Every other Wednesday evening through Aug. 8, concert-goers can watch the sun set over Lady Bird Lake and enjoy free performances from Ben Kweller, Charlie Mars with Max Gomez, BoDeabs with Quiet Company, Marcia Ball with Nakia and more.
