Formula 1 racing will come to Central Texas with the Circuit of The Americas, a new racetrack located in Austin, Texas. The new racetrack is designed to be the only purpose-built facility in the U.S. to host the Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix through 2021 and V8 Supercars from 2013-2018.

The 2012 Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix will take place in Austin on the weekend of Nov. 16-18. In addition, the track will be the only FIA-certified Grade 1 track in the U.S., as well as one of the only 26 Grade 1-certified motorsports facilities in the world.The venue includes the 3.4-mile Circuit of The Americas track, which is designed for all classes of racing, plus an outdoor amphitheater that accommodates 15,000-17,000 people.
