Visitors to Corpus Christi, Texas, can enjoy the first weekend of the month, every month, with numerous cultural events and activities. On the first Friday of every month, the action can be found in downtown Corpus Christi — home to First Friday ArtWalk. The monthly event takes place rain or shine from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Although the ArtWalk started off as a celebration of all things art, it has grown to become a more varied neighborhood event with 57 participating venues including galleries, cultural venues, shops, restaurants and more.

The first Saturday of the month brings a new event to Corpus Christi — Marina Market Days. More than 80 vendors will offer art, jewelry, ceramics, clothing, crafts and a farmers market from 9 am. to 4 p.m. at the Corpus Christi Marina.

Visitors can spend the first Sunday of the month at the Bridgewalk, a 2.6-mile walk with public art on display including work titled, “Voyage: A Journey Through Our Solar System.” In related news, Corpus Christi’s Harbor Bridge walking lanes reopen for the New Years Day Walk on Jan. 1, 2012.
