The Details

Galveston Historical Foundation’s annual Victorian-style street festival, Dickens on the Strand, will once again take place during the first weekend of December in downtown Galveston, Texas. Visitors can expect to see hundreds of costumed performers and vendors celebrating the music, food and wares of 19th-century London.

In addition, the event features street musicians, strolling carolers, a lantern parade, Victorian bed races, a costume contest and street stalls filled with holiday decorations and gifts. This year’s edition will feature The Dickens Emporium, with an exhibit from London’s Charles Dickens Museum.

Ticket prices are $9 per person, per day. An architectural walking tour of historic downtown Galveston is available to Dickens on the Strand ticket holders for an additional $5.
