A guided tour is now available of the Battleship Texas in La Porte, Texas, which is in close proximity to Houston. Guests are requested to bring a flashlight or headlamp in order to better explore the depths of this real warship.

The Battleship Texas, which was the flagship of the Texas Navy in 1948, was the first-ever battleship memorial museum in the U.S. It is a part of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site, which consists of the Battleground, Monument and Battleship Texas. These sites are located within minutes of downtown Houston and a short distance to the beaches of Galveston Island.

Battleship Texas tours are available to anyone who is 13 years of age or older by reservation only. Tours cost $30 per person.
