The Houston Museum District will replace the annual free Museum District Day with a quarterly program called the Museum Experience, beginning in January.
In order to promote the walkability of the Museum district and create an intimate experience for visitors, the 19 museums in the area will be divided into four zones, which will feature a variety of events on four different days during the course of the year. Guest can expect fun festivities including a variety of food trucks, pedicabs, live music and more.
The first event will take place Jan. 26. It will highlight The Menil Collection, Rothko Chapel and the Houston Center for Photography. The other three Museum Experience days are already scheduled for April 27, July 27 and Sept. 28 of next year and will feature other museums in the area. A list of museums in each zone can be found online.
