Looking for a reason to break out the lederhosen? Addison, Texas’ annual Addison Oktoberfest, taking place from Sept. 15 to 18, has been named in the top 10 Oktoberfests in the country by “USA Today.” Nearly 70,000 individuals are expected to gather in Addison Circle Park for polka music, German food (apfelstrudel, bratwurst, sauerkraut, potato pancakes and pretzels, to name a few favorites) and Oktoberfest beer from breweries such as Spaten and Franziskaner.
Throughout the park, families can enjoy great children’s entertainment complete with a carnival, performers and activities. The event also features international beer and wine tastings, a dachshund race and parade, a yodeling contest, a German spelling bee and arts and crafts.
The hotels of Addison, Texas, are enticing travelers with special room rates, along with a gift package from the Town of Addison. The package provides complimentary festival admission for two, a commemorative Oktoberfest beer stein and $10 in festival “tasty bucks” good for Addison Oktoberfest’s food and beverage.
