Family-owned and operated Schlitterbahn Waterparks recently opened a new beachfront hotel and indoor, year-round resort waterpark at Schlitterbahn Beach Resort, South Padre Island, Texas. Located on the Gulf of Mexico, the 221-room Schlitterbahn Beach Resort offers family suites, dining options, complimentary Wi-Fi access, free parking and unlimited use of the Schlitterbahn indoor and outdoor waterparks.
Schlitterbahn’s new indoor waterpark features two large 70-foot-tall tube slides, two adventurous tidal wave rivers, a whimsical kids’ area with several slides, a giant heated pool with swim-up refreshments, a beachfront pool, several wave beaches and a grand carousel. All of the new attractions are part of the resort’s Stay and Play package for overnight guests.
As part of Schlitterbahn’s ongoing commitment to the environment, many wooden structures in the park, and much of the furnishings in the hotel including the nightstands in the guest rooms, are made from wood reclaimed after the devastating forest fires near Bastrop, Texas. Many of the salvaged trees are loblolly pines from the Lost Pines region.
