The Renaissance Dallas Hotel has been named 2009 Hotel of the Year by the Hotel Association of North Texas. The award was announced at the Hotel Association’s annual HOSPY Awards, following a rigorous region-wide nomination and selection process.
The 514-room Renaissance Dallas Hotel was saluted for its strong focus on the guest experience. According to the hotel, its 2008 renovation as well as the company’s new Team First philosophy — in which employees help each other in order to better serve guests — were cited as contributing factors for the win.
“I am very proud for our team and that their hard work and dedication to each other, our guests and to our community have been recognized by the HOSPY Awards,” said Tim Sullivan, the general manager of the hotel. “The teamwork and commitment displayed by our associates in this very difficult year has been nothing short of heroic. I am extremely honored to serve with this team.”
Since 2008, The Renaissance Dallas Hotel expanded its recycling and conservation efforts to win the Energy Star Award. In 2009, the hotel has exceeded goals for market shares. The hotel is also a leadership partner with the Hotel Association of North Texas and the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau working to develop and market a Web-based incentive program designed to bring new meeting business to Dallas.
