The Details

Travaasa Austin, part of Travaasa Destinations portfolio, will open in the Texas Hill Country in April. The resort is nestled within 210 acres of the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve, overlooking Lake Travis, and is about a 30-minute drive from downtown Austin. Travaasa Austin aims to expose travelers to the flora and fauna of the region — including blooming bluebonnets, a native Texas wildflower, and the songs of golden-cheeked warblers.

The resort features 70 guestrooms, each with a private deck, which are designed to expose guests to the natural habitat. In addition, the property features horse stables, a challenge course designed in partnership with Outward Bound, a fitness center and movement studio, an infinity-edge pool and a full-service spa.

Travaasa also offers guests a variety of activities. Outdoor activities include guided hikes through the Balcones Canyonland, horseback riding, stand-up paddle boarding on Lake Travis and more. Those seeking a thrill can try the Prickly Pear challenge course, a complex structure of vertical climbing elements complete with a dual zipline stretching more than 250 feet. Indoor activities include classes at the fitness center, including yoga, meditation and health-oriented workshops.
