Tripology, an interactive travel referral service connecting travel specialists with high-intent travelers, has introduced its new Travel Industry Supporter Program. The program offers refunds on Tripology’s lead fees for agents who end up booking their clients with one of Tripology’s preferred Industry Supporters, a group which includes such companies as Avalon Waterways, Collette Vacations, Globus, Pacific Delight Tours and Trafalgar.

Tripology, which launched its unique platform in 2007, was created to bring together travel agents with consumers seeking assistance with their travel plans. Essentially, consumers who seek professional help organizing tricky or involved itineraries can complete a free trip request at the site. The request is then forwarded to registered agents, known as “Tripologists,” whose profiles match the consumer criteria. Agents may then choose to “buy” the consumer lead, subsequently contacting the consumer with a proposed travel itinerary. Each consumer can receive up to three travel agent inquiries. After three agents have “purchased” a lead, it disappears from the active platform, allowing agents to move on to other, open bids.

Agents may register to become a Tripologist for free, and they control which leads they would like to purchase. Further, agents with a six-month or longer track record at Tripology are also eligible to participate in a newly launched perks program, designed to increase participation in the platform.

Tripology has more than 12,000 registered travel specialists, who have fulfilled more than 100,000 trip requests since the service launched.
