City Creek Center in Salt Lake City, Utah will soon be the retail center of one of the country’s largest downtown redevelopment projects. Taubman Center’s casual environment will bring a unique, mixed-use experience to Salt Lake City.
The center plans to open on March 22, 2012, and will be the only shopping complex in the U.S. with a retractable roof. Additions also in the works include a creek running through the property, two 18-foot waterfalls and a fire dancing fountain from the creator of the Bellagio fountains in Las Vegas. A pedestrian skybridge with glass walls will also connect the retail stores and create an artistic way to move throughout the center while taking in views of the area.
It will be located across the street from Temple Square and will feature Nordstrom and Macy’s flagship stores along with approximately 80 other stores and restaurants.
