Alaska Airlines has announced it will launch daily nonstop service between Seattle and Kansas City, Mo., starting March 12, 2012.
The Seattle-based carrier will operate the new route with fuel-efficient Boeing 737 aircraft.
"Kansas City is the seventh-largest market in the country from Seattle that we do not currently serve," said Joe Sprague, Alaska Airlines' vice president of marketing. "We're looking forward to bringing our award-winning customer service and our smiling Eskimo to the ‘Show Me' state."
The new Seattle-Kansas City flight will depart at 8:45 a.m. and arrive at 2:15 p.m.
The return flight will leave Kansas City at 3:05 p.m. and land in Seattle at 5 p.m.
Members of Alaska Airlines' mileage plan can earn double miles on the carrier's nonstop flights between Seattle and Kansas City from March 12-April 25, 2012.
