Blend Event Connects Wine, Food, Hospitality

Blend, an annual food and wine event to benefit the Washington Wine Industry Foundation, takes place from 4-7 p.m. on Sept. 18, 2011

Blend, an annual food and wine event to benefit the Washington Wine Industry Foundation, takes place from 4-7 p.m. on Sept. 18, 2011, at Seattle's Bell Harbor International Conference Center. The only event dedicated to showcasing Washington’s blends, it features top wine producers from around the state.

The event was established in 2010 to help people fully enjoy and understand how blended wines are created. Guests will find selections from more than 40 wineries, paired with gourmet cuisine from many of Columbia Hospitality's hotels, inns and conference centers, including Cave B Inn and Spa, Salish Lodge and Spa, Kenwood Inn and Spa, and Inn at Langley.

Guests will also have the opportunity to win getaways and culinary experiences at Columbia Hospitality’s hotels and resorts in the Pacific Northwest and Sonoma.

According to the editors of Wine Press Northwest, red blends from the Pacific Northwest “might just be the biggest category of wine made in our corner of the world.”

Tickets for Blend cost $49 per person through Aug. 15, and $59 from Aug. 16 until the event date. The price includes a take-home wine glass, wine-tasting from more than 40 winemakers and culinary bites.
