Clipper's Tulip Tours begin April 8 // (c) 2010 Clipper Vacations
Every year, the tulip fields of Washington's Skagit Valley come alive with over 700 acres of red, yellow, purple and pink tulips. Every town in the valley celebrates the event, resulting in a festival that lasts throughout the month of April.
For 2011, Clipper Vacations is operating its annual Tulip Tours on April 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17. Flower enthusiasts who book this fully escorted excursion travel between Seattle’s Pier 69 and the quaint town of La Conner. Everyone enjoys a two-and-one-half-hour narrated tour of the tulip fields with stops at two bulb farms and plenty of free time in La Conner for shopping and/or lunch. The group arrives back in Seattle around dinner time.
On Fridays and Sundays, round-trip travel takes place on a deluxe motor coach. On Saturdays, travel is one way by motor coach and one way via Victoria Clipper cruise, docking in downtown La Conner.
Rates start at $41 per adult if booked seven days in advance. The price per child ages 11 and under starts at $27.
Clipper has been an official sponsor of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival since 1991.
