Seattle Center Honors 50 Years, Looks Ahead
Seattle is gearing up to serve as the home port for Disney Cruise Lines' Alaska cruises in 2012.
Disney chose Seattle as one of three new ports for its 2012 itineraries, replacing Vancouver, B.C. which has served as Disney’s home port for Alaskan cruises during the two previous cruise seasons. The other new ports are New York City and Galveston, Texas.
Disney’s 14 Seattle-to-Alaska cruises, starting May 2012, will be aboard its Wonder ship, with stops in Tracy Arm, Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan, Alaska and Victoria, B.C.
The Disney cruises are predicted to inject $26.6 million into the Seattle economy.
