The new 175-foot Seattle Great Wheel has made its debut on Pier 57, part of Seattle's historic waterfront.

The structure extends nearly 40 feet over Elliott Bay, offering breathtaking views of Puget Sound and surrounding islands.

The Seattle Great Wheel contains 42 climate-controlled gondolas seating six passengers each, including one glass-floored VIP gondola with leather seats. At capacity the wheel can hold 252 people. Each ride lasts approximately 12 minutes during three full rotations.

Admission is $13 per adult, $8.50 per child ages 4-11 and free for children 3 and under. The VIP gondola costs $25 per person. Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office.

Currently, the Great Wheel runs daily from 11 a.m. to midnight.
