Several Washington hotels are running value-added packages inviting guests to take a break from this month's hectic holiday schedule and have some fun while saving money.

For instance, Hotel Bellwether in Bellingham is offering the Bay to Baker package, an active winter getaway including overnight accommodations, continental breakfast and two lift tickets for a day of skiing or snowboarding at Mount Baker Ski Area. Located 56 miles east of Bellingham, Mt. Baker provides 1,000 acres of terrain, 38 marked trails, eight quad lifts and two handle tows. Rates start at $220 per night. The package is available through March 31, 2011, snow conditions permitting.

Canine-loving clients who book the Dog Days of Winter at Lakedale Resort get two nights in a real log cabin, a breakfast basket and maps to navigate the many trails around the island, including the 82-acre resort, Mount Finlayson, Young Hill and Lime Kiln State Park. For its four-legged guests, the package also comes with use of a puppy bed, dog dishes, blanket, towel, canine chewy bagel treats and specialty pup cakes. The offer is valid through Dec. 29, 2010, with a maximum of four humans and two canines per cabin. Rates start at $399.

Located 12 miles from Wenatchee, Mission Ridge lays claim to 36 runs spread over 2,000 acres of terrain. Nightly package rates range from $190-$220.
