The Mayflower Park Hotel is teaming up with Savor Seattle Tours to offer a new package for food-adventurous clients. Guests who book the deal get accommodations, valet parking and admission to a gourmet food tour, which starts at the hotel's Andaluca Restaurant.
During the three-hour culinary excursion, clients explore the streets and sites of of Belltown, downtown Seattle and Pike Place Market while learning about the city's history, culture and entertainment offerings. They go underground to see a microbrewery in action, and they meet Seattle's top chefs. Along the way they also sample such indulgences as local wine and beer, seared duck cakes and sangria, all-natural salami and sausage, chocolate truffles, spent-grain beer bread, raw cow's milk cheese and homemade gelato and sorbet.
Package rates begin at $215 per night, good on stays through March 31, 2010. Clients who are interested in the package should be fit enough to stand on their feet for three hours.
Built in 1927, the renovated Mayflower Park Hotel is one of the last remaining locally owned and independent hotels in the Seattle area. It is entirely non-smoking and offers complimentary wireless Internet access throughout the hotel.
