Lake Chelan Wine Valley is celebrating autumn with two seasonal wine events: the Lake Chelan Crush and Fall Barrel Tasting.
Home to a thriving winemaking community boasting 14 wineries, Lake Chelan offers an ideal harvest vacation and is described as one of the most beautiful lake settings in the world.
Seasonal events throughout October and November, 2011, are designed to teach visitors about the intricate process used to create the region’s award-winning wines. Visitors have the opportunity to tour the vineyards, meet the winemakers, taste award-winning wines and dine at winery restaurants.
From Oct. 1-2 and Oct. 8-9, the Lake Chelan Crush allows the area's boutique wineries to celebrate the harvest season. Guests can immerse themselves in the world of wine by enjoying exclusive vineyard and winery tours, live music and award-winning tastings at each of the wineries. Attendees are invited to mingle with the winemakers. In addition, many of the wineries offer a distinctive dining experience and nearby farms offer fresh locally grown produce to complement the region’s premium wines.
From Nov. 25-27, 2011, the boutique wineries of the Lake Chelan Wine Valley host their annual Fall Barrel Tasting event. Guests explore winery cellar rooms for exclusive barrel tastings with Lake Chelan winemakers. The region is known for its Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir and Syrah.
