Cheyenne, Wyo., Hosts Americana Music Weekend

Some of the West’s most influential and celebrated musicians, poets, artisans and storytellers to perform

This upcoming Labor Day Weekend, Cheyenne, Wyo. will host an Americana Music Weekend featuring two music festivals and some of the West’s most influential and celebrated musicians, poets, artisans and storytellers.

On Friday, Sept. 4, Jon Chandler and the Wichitones will headline the free Depot Plaza Country Concert at Lions Park Amphitheater from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, Sept. 5, a concert headlining Michael Martin Murphey and Jon Chandler and the Wichitones will take place at the Civic Center. Tickets are $20-$25 per person. On Sunday, Sept. 6, the free Magic City Bluegrass Festival will take over the Lions Park Amphitheater from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring gospel music and more.

The Americana Music Weekend also features Living History Discussions; a Pioneer Roundtable series; free music workshops on banjo, mandolin, fiddle, guitar and bass; and a roping demonstration.
