Sweetwater County, located in southwest Wyoming halfway between Yellowstone and Canyonlands National Park, has been recognized by three separate organizations for its attractions and events.

The Sweetwater County Fair landed a spot on Livability.com’s Top 10 Summer Fairs List. The 2013 fair will be held July 27 – Aug. 4 at the Sweetwater County Events Complex in Rock Springs and will feature rodeos, racing events, carnival rides, concerts, livestock shows, 4-H exhibits and more.

The High Plains Motorcycle Association (HPMA) named the Sweetwater Events Complex the HPMA Track of the Year. The Rock Springs Motocross Club hosts a variety of motocross events at the venue throughout the year.

Home to one of the largest railroad switching roads in the country, Green River has been awarded membership into the Train Town U.S.A. Registry as part of Union Pacific’s 150th anniversary celebration. Visitors and train enthusiasts can enjoy the view from the pedestrian overpass to see the switch engines working and the main line trains arriving and departing.

These are only a small sampling of what Sweetwater County has to offer.
